Getting there by public transport or car
Using public transportation
Streetcar (Line 16) from the front of the main railroad station, Track 2, towards Lößnig; stop at the "Deutsche Nationalbibliothek" stop. Travel time approximately 15 minutes.
Streetcar (Line 2) from the Wilhelm-Leuschner-Platz towards Meusdorf; stop at "Deutsche Nationalbibliothek" stop. Travel time approximately 7 minutes.
By car
Autobahn to Schkeuditzer Kreuz, Radefeld exit; follow signs to the city centre ("Innenstadt") and the "Altes Messegelände". Road construction may cause temporary detours.

Getting there by public transport or car
Using public transportation
From the main railroad station (lower level) U5 (underground) towards Preungesheim to "Deutsche Nationalbibliothek" station. Travel time approximately 10 minutes.
From the airport (local railroad station) S8 or S9 towards Hanau or Offenbach Ost to "Konstablerwache". Change to U5 (underground) towards Preungesheim to "Deutsche Nationalbibliothek" station. Travel time approximately 30 minutes.
The no. 32 bus goes to the stop "Deutsche Nationalbibliothek".
By car
Autobahn A 66 to the end of the Autobahn at Miquelallee; follow signs for Fulda/Hanau; turn right at the third traffic light onto Eckenheimer Landstraße towards the city center; signs point to the entrance to the underground parking area (liable for costs).
Autobahn A 661 up to the exit Eckenheim. Get into the lane for Innenstadt (City centre) / Eckenheim and drive straight on up to the third big junction with traffic lights. Cross this junction, the building on your right is the library. After about 100 m turn right into the underground parking area.

By public transportation
From the Central Railway Station (former Lehrter Bahnhof)
Take a westbound S-Bahn (S 5 destination Westkreuz, S 7 destination Potsdam, S 75 destination Spandau, S 9) to the stop "Zoologischer Garten". Change to U 9 (underground) and get off at the stop "Rathaus Steglitz". From here take bus no. 186 with destination Lichterfelde and get of at the stop "Gärtnerstraße". The bus stop for no. 186 is located at the junction Grunewaldstraße / Schlossstraße.
Or:
Take an eastbound S-Bahn (S 5 destination Strausberg, S 7 destination Ahrensfelde, S 75 destination Wartenberg, S 9 destination Schönefeld) to the stop "Friedrichstraße". Change to S 25 (destination Teltow Stadt or Lichterfelde Süd). Get off either at the stop "Lankwitz" and walk down Bruckner- and Kaulbachstraße to Gärtnerstraße or get off at the stop "Lichterfelde Ost" and walk down Jungfernstieg to Gärtnerstraße.
Or:
Mount a Regional Express train at the Central Railway Station and get off at the stop "Lichterfelde Ost", walk down Jungfernstieg to Gärtnerstraße. Please check the time table for the Regional Express train connection. Those trains are not running as frequently as the S-Bahn, the underground or the buses.
Walking time approximately 15 minutes (from either bus, S-Bahn or train stop).
From Berlin-Tegel airport
Take the airport shuttle bus "TXL" and get off at the stop " Turmstraße". Change to underground line U 9 destination " Rathaus Steglitz" and get off at that stop. From here take bus no. 186 with destination Lichterfelde and get of at the stop "Gärtnerstraße". The bus stop for no. 186 is located at the junction Grunewaldstraße / Schlossstraße.
By car
Change from the AVUS (A 115) in Dreilinden onto highway B 1 in direction Zehlendorf / Steglitz; before reaching the "Steglitzer Kreisel" (roundabout) turn right at the high-rise building, then right into Wolfensteindamm and immediately left into Birkbuschstraße. After crossing the Teltowkanal, turn right into Siemensstraße and at the next intersection left into Gärtnerstraße. Parking spaces are available in sufficient quantity on the premises of the German Music Archive.
