Patent publications

In 1955 the collection of the Deutsche Bücherei Leipzig was extended to patent publications. Until now the patent and interpretation publications of the GDR and the BRD are collected. In 1961 the library obtained 670,000 Reich patent publications covering the period from 1877 to 1945.
When the Bundespatentamt in 1990 introduced a new structure of its display and information points the collection of patent publications was transferred to the Deutsche Bücherei Leipzig.

The complete collection comprises a total of 1,98 million patent specification from the German Reich, GDR and BRD for the years 1877 - 1990 in printed and microform.
