Documents of international organisations

Prior to unification both the Deutsche Bücherei Leipzig and the Deutsche Bibliothek Frankfurt am Main were accredited by numerous international organisations (e. g. UN, UNESCO, EU, WTO) as deposit libraries. Since 1990 the Deutsche Bücherei Leipzig fulfils this function within Die Deutsche Bibliothek. Since 2005 only the documents published in Germany or in German language are collected as part of the legal deposit mandatory.

In addition to publications by the organisations cited above, the Deutsche Bücherei also collects publications of the ICAO, IAEA, OECD, FAO and the WHO.

By the end of 2004 the collection contained some 412,000 documents by international organisations and symbolic documents.

Orders from the International Organisation Documents collection will be made available in the Technology reading room. Requested items will be delivered on the following working day.
